About the WACT4BBB

We know… it’s a bit of a mouth full, but WACT4BBB stands for the World Amateur 4 Player Best Ball Champions Tournament. The first of its kind. This tournament isn’t open to the pros (they get enough of the fun), but instead to teams of amateur golfers Australia wide.

Unfortunately, we can’t all be like Adam Scott or Jason Day and that’s exactly why we wanted to give passionate amateurs a chance to play in a tournament that will make them feel as special as a pro receiving an invite to Augusta National.

So, if you’ve ever wanted to represent your state, win a coveted jacket or be flown to play in an all expenses paid event like the pros, then this one’s for you. All you need is a current golf link card and a group of friends (who are members of a club) that you wouldn’t mind playing a few rounds with. Yep, entry is easier than sinking a putt with a Scotty Cameron.

The Stages

Our four player best ball golfing event is spread over two separate stages;

The qualifying rounds are played across three qualifying trials of two rounds each. You can play up to six rounds: in one, two or all three qualifying trials. They can be played at your local club. All you have to do is register online, then all four play in your nominated qualifying trials, and record your score over a minimum of two qualifying rounds of a qualifying trial.

The championship tournament is only open to 22 winning groups from the prior qualifying rounds.

The championship tournament is our crowning glory. If your group is one of the 22 winning groups from the qualifying rounds, you’ll be invited on an all expenses paid trip to represent your club and state at our tournament. Based across Northern Tasmania and King Island, competitors will face off across four of Australia’s best links courses – Cape Wickham, Ocean Dunes and Barnbougle Dunes, and Barnbougle Lost Farm.

The championship winning team will be determined by the results across all four courses. Each winner will receive a coveted purple jacket and an opportunity to return the following year to defend their title of the best 4 player best ball team in the land.

The Final Stage of tournament starts at Barnbougle Dunes. A magnificent course, ranked No.3 out of Australia’s best courses.

If you’re a links devotee you’ll thoroughly enjoy day one at Barnbougle Dunes. Your score here will set up your team for the days to follow, so hopefully the wind is in your favour!

The second round of Final begins at the Barnbougle Lost Farm. The somewhat friendlier neighbour of the Dunes.

Stick to the wider fairways as the rough is unplayable and no one wants to lose their ball. Remember each team member must put in a score on at least four holes!

We’ll cross Bass Strait to enjoy the third round at Ocean Dunes on the remote King Island.

Play across rolling dunes while taking in unsurpassed views along 2km of coastal frontage. Keep your cool on the 4th and 10th as you play heroic par three’s over surging waters.

We saved the best until last with our fourth and final round commencing at Cape Wickham.

Consistently ranked in the top two of Australia’s best courses, Cape Wickham is the perfect course to sort out the winners of our tournament. Does your team have what it takes?
